The Dead Letter Awards, or DLAs, is the annual Mail Order Zombie event celebrating the best in zombie movies and media from the previous year. Only one nominee can be selected per category; every category has the option of a write-in vote. You need not vote in every category, but you must include your name and email address for your vote to be counted; only one ballot per person. The voting period runs from 2/12/11-3/6/11. The Dead Letter Awards show will take place during Mail Order Zombie #158, 3/10/11. Dead Letter Award nominees were nominated by the public during an open nomination period in January 2011.
Zombie BooksIn order to be eligible for a 2010 Dead Letter Award, the book must have been released for the first time in a print edition in 2010. Paperback editions of previously published hardcover books are not eligible. If a book is a reprint of a book published before 2010, it is not eligible unless the reprint is judged by Mail Order Zombie to be significantly different than the previous release.

Zombie MoviesIn order to be eligible for a 2010 Dead Letter Award, the movie/release or movie/release represented in its category must have been released for the first time in a fixed digital format for home viewing somewhere in the world. A DVD re-release or Blu-ray release of a movie previously released on DVD would not qualify; a movie being released as a Region 1 DVD release that has been previously released in another DVD Region would not qualify. A DVD or Blu-ray release of a movie only previously released on VHS would qualify. Director's Cuts, Extended Editions, Collector's Editions do not qualify unless this release was also the first release of the movie. A television series does qualify if the television series was released on DVD or Blu-ray for the first time in 2010 (in which case the DVD/Blu-ray release will be referred to as a "movie" for purposes of this Dead Letter Award Ballot).
